Transparency Report of July 2025

Hello, everyone!

This is Ryan, and this month I will be taking a look at what happened in July with Print My Blog’s 56th Transparency Report!

So, let’s get into it.

What Happened This Month

Customer Spotlight: Exploring Colombia by Bicycle

Before I get into the analytics, I want to start off by sharing the story of Charley Kanieski.

At the beginning of July, we received a Five Star review on Freemius that read:

★★★★★

Amazing

I just published my first book using your tool and it worked better than I could have imagined

– Admin

Naturally, I was curious about the book so I reached out to the author of the review to learn more and get permission to share his story.

Charley Kanieski is the author of the fantastic travel blog, Adventures of Charley, which follows his adventures traveling and exploring the outdoors as an octogenarian.

We are super proud to be part of his story, and excited for the release of his first book, Exploring Colombia by Bicycle, which is available now on Amazon. The book follows his travels and reflections as he bikes through Colombia.

Okay, now, let’s get into the numbers.

Salse & Revenue

Summer is usually a slow season for Print My Blog. With the warm weather, people are probably spending more time at the beach than blogging on their computers.

As such, revenue is usually lower in July compared to other months, and especially compared to last month, which had relatively high revenue due largely to a Business Plan renewal.

Alright, let’s start with a look at these two graphs, comparing stats for July 2025 with those of July 2024.

From these figures, we can see that 1st Payments and Refunds are roughly comparable to last year, but Renewals are down around 30%. This was mainly due to a Business Plan customer switching to a Professional Plan.

Our Business Plan is geared towards helping you set up custom integrations with your website, and building custom designs for you. So, it is typical for Business Plan customers to switch to a lower tier plan once that work is complete. And, that is what happened here.

Audience Analytics

Next, I want to show you these two graphs, which are a little more promising.

The first graph compares our growth in July to that in June. As you can see, the total net number of new activations was 259, which was a +66% increase in new activations compared to June.

Comparing July 2025 to July 2024 is even more encouraging though, with a +250% relative increase in net new activations.

Interestingly, our number of deactivations seems to be consistent, around 200 per month.

So, how does this year-to-date compare with last year-to-date?

The chart on the left shows a relatively consistent increase. The uniformity of that monthly trend line is interesting isn’t it? A steady cycle of peaks and dips with an upward trend! It will be interesting to see what happens in August. Will there be another dip or an even larger peak that breaks the cycle?

As for the overall numbers, this year-to -date, our net new activations are up +78.7% compared to the previous year, while our total number of deactivations is slightly lower.

I think Print My Blog offers a lot in its free version, and that is likely a driver for new activations.

New Review

Last month, we replied to over 40 support emails for our users, many of whom were using the free version of our plugin, and I think providing quality customer support to all users is something both Mike and I pride ourselves on. That’s why we were both delighted when we saw this new Five Star review from Istok on our WordPress.org page listing! Thank you, Istok! We’re glad you enjoy the plugin!

Closing

That’s all for this month’s report. Thank you for reading!
