I’m looking to hire one or more persons to help with:
- plugin development (writing PHP, Javascript, HTML, and CSS to improve the plugin and custom designs; and the odd bit of work improving the printmy.blog website)
- plugin support (responding to email support requests and on WordPress.org support forum)
- content writing (writing tutorials, documentation, and monthly transparency reports)
These tasks could all be done by the same person, or multiple individuals could work on what they do best. E.g., if you have experience making a plugin, supporting it, and writing about it, it would be great to have one person do all of that. Alternatively, one person could do plugin development, another person do support, and someone else do content writing. I’m flexible.
But my budget is pretty tight: I’m currently making about $1,000 USD per month from Print My Blog, and would rather not spend more than that on having someone else work on it. So I probably only afford about 6 hours of plugin development, 6 hours of plugin support, and 6 hours of content writing per month. But I’m happy to increase that as the monthly income goes up.
There’s another catch too: I’m hoping to continue doing my regular transparency reports, which will include expenses from paying folks to help me with it. That’s unusual, I know. But I think it could benefit everyone involved (and other plugin developers and the plugin users).
Responsibilities of the Role(s)
Plugin Development
- improve the Print My Blog plugin using PHP, Javascript (no React), HTML, CSS and Prince CSS
- do custom designs for PMB Business clients (which is quite similar to developing non-block-based WordPress Themes)
- website maintenance of printmy.blog and my Mautic mailing list site
Plugin Support
- respond to plugin support emails (excellent written English, empathetic, and knowledgeable about using Print My Blog and WordPress and other plugins)
- respond to WordPress.org support forum topics and reviews
Content Writing
- Write monthly transparency reports
- Write tutorials and use-cases demonstrating how to use Print My Blog
- Improve the written content on PMB’s website (especially documentation), the WordPress.org page, and the in-plugin copy
And again, if you want to complete all three of those roles, that would be great. But if you only want to do one, I’ll consider that too.
If you have previous experience that matches these needs, please apply!
